New Homework Policy

Only major long term homework assignments are posted online.  Daily work that students don't finish in class are not posted since the assignments are only homework for those that need additional time and don't complete their work in class.  Students are responsible to write down their homework and keep track of the work that they don't finish.  Every student is required to have a take-home folder.  Using it to keep track of their own work is the 5th grader's responsibility.

Questions that you may want to ask your child if they receive homework often:

1.  Are you understanding the work?

2.  Do you need to go to school early and receive additional help from the math tutor before school?  (8:00-8:45 AM Daily in the Computer Lab)

3.  How could you use your time in class more productively?

4.  What can we do to help?

I do have assignment sheets available, upon request.  Some students may benefit from using an assignment sheet if they are unable to consistently complete their homework.

Due Wednesday

Math: Make 5 rectangles and 5 triangles.  Label them either cm or inches.  Then find both the area and the perimeter.

AREA Formulas

Rectangle:  Base * Height = area

Triangle:  1/2 Base * Height = area

Reading:  Mr. Barella's reading group is required to finish a book report and it is due the first Monday of every month.
