ACTIVITIES/INFORMATION (SCHOOL RELATED)

Activity workers are needed for fall sports.  This is a great way to earn service to school points!  Please see Mrs. Bryant in the Activities Office if interested.

NOTES FROM THE GUIDANCE OFFICE & CAREER CENTER

The PSAT will be given at Mark Morris on Wednesday, October 15th at 7:30 a.m.  If you would like to sign up please see Mrs. Schoenecker at the Activities Office window.  Space is limited.

The annual WSU School of Engineering and Computer Science Info Night is scheduled for Thursday, Sept 18th. This is an opportunity to learn how to prepare for a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science, tour the labs and ask questions of faculty. Admissions counselors will also be on hand.  Stop by the Career Center for more information.

News from the Career Center.  25 Teen Mentors needed this year to mentor elementary students!  Come to the Career Center and complete an application ASAP!  Mrs. Peters will give you an application.  Due Date is Sept. 22nd. Official training is Saturday 9/27 from 10-2.  Old and new mentors will participate.  The beginning of October we anticipate assigning you to your mentee.  Teen Coordinator: Mrs. Smith can be reached at 751-1239 or 4smithhouse@comcast.net

 

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPTIONS:

There are volunteer opportunities available at the YMCA, The Cowlitz County Historical Museum, and St. John Medical Center. 
Youth and Family Link is looking for a few 18 year old students to hire for their afterschool programs.  Students can work 5-10 hours a week between 3 and 5:30pm. 
See Mrs. Peters in the Career Center to apply for these positions.

 

ACTIVITIES/INFORMATION (NON-SCHOOL RELATED)

LCC’s new Health & Science Building will be open this Saturday, 9/20, from 1:00 – 4:00.  For more information, pick up a flyer at the receptionist’s desk in front entrance of school.
