Your Longview School Board

The Longview School District School board meet the second and fourth Monday of each month at the Longview School District Administrative Office located at 2715 Lilac. The meetings start at 7:30. The public is welcome. If a meeting date or time is changed, the dates and time are published and the information is available at 575-7016. Current agenda.

Vacant Position

 

The Longview School Board of Directors is seeking applicants to fill the unexpired term of Skip Urling who resigned  Aug. 11 after 12-years of service to the district. Urling, who served in leadership positions for most of his time in office, was scheduled to serve through November 2015.

The Board of Directors will accept applications for the position  until 3 p.m. August 25.  The Board will meet in executive session on August 25 to review the applications and reconvene to open session for the selection of candidates to interview in open session on Sept. 8 starting at 5 p.m. The board is expected to appoint a new member Sept. 22.


   

C.J. Nickerson

Family: Mr. Nickerson is married and has five children and fourteen grandchildren.

Mr. Nickerson has taught at the elementary, secondary and university levels. He served 14 years at the Office of the Superintendent in the Division of Curriculum and Instruction. He has coached in school and community programs for over 30 years. He earned his Doctorate and Master's degrees in Education from the University of Oregon and his Bachelor's degree in Education from Central Washington University. Mr. Nickerson retired from the Comprehensive Health Education Foundation after serving 14 years as President.

Family: Mr. Rossetti is married with three school age children.

Mr. Rossetti is a Legislative Assistant to Representative Brian Blake of the 19th District and owns JDRose.net, a local web design and consulting business in Cowlitz County. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in public affairs from Washington State University and an Associate of Arts degree from Lower Columbia College.
